My life; my decision!

Today, I decided to live my life for myself! Or should I rather say, I decided not live for others? It simply means that I will only do what I really want to. No more acting happy and trying to see that bright side of life and force that smile, no more taking tablets to prolong this miserable life. World can hate me for all it wants.

I know it is important to do what I really want, not what others expect out of me. I am not sure I can be mean to others. It may not be in my nature. But for sure, I will not change me for others. I am what I am. If you like me the way I am, please like me. If not, continue to hate me, bitch about me, malign me and make my life miserable. What more can you do? Ya, You can poison the minds of those who like me too. Wont that complete the cycle?

I may decide to not to live this life. Wont that be my prerogative? I wish it was that simple. But what do you do about others who wish the best for you and live for you, or at least care a bit about you? I have no answers.

Jesus and Mary Magdalen - Kahlil Gibran

From Kahlil Gibran's "Jesus the Son of Man"

It was in the month of June when I saw Him for the first time. He was walking in the wheatfield when I passed by with my handmaidens, and He was alone. The rhythm of His steps was different from other men’s, and the movement of His body was like naught I had seen before. Men do not pace the earth in that manner. And even now I do not know whether He walked fast or slow. My handmaidens pointed their fingers at Him and spoke in shy whispers to one another. And I stayed my steps for a moment, and raised my hand to hail Him. But He did not turn His face, and He did not look at me. And I hated Him. I was swept back into myself, and I was as cold as if I had been in a snow-drift. And I shivered.

That night I beheld Him in my dreaming; and they told me afterward that I screamed in my sleep and was restless upon my bed.

It was in the month of August that I saw Him again, through my window. He was sitting in the shadow of the cypress tree across my garden, and He was still as if He had been carved out of stone, like the statues in Antioch and other cities of the North Country. And my slave, the Egyptian, came to me and said, “That man is here again. He is sitting there across your garden.” And I gazed at Him, and my soul quivered within me, for He was beautiful. His body was single and each part seemed to love every other part. Then I clothed myself with raiment of Damascus, and I left my house and walked towards Him.

Was it my aloneness, or was it His fragrance, that drew me to Him? Was it a hunger in my eyes that desired comeliness, or was it His beauty that sought the light of my eyes? Even now I do not know. I walked to Him with my scented garments and my golden sandals, the sandals the Roman captain had given me, even these sandals. And when I reached Him, I said, “Good-morrow to you.”

And He said, “Good-morrow to you, Miriam.” And He looked at me, and His night-eyes saw me as no man had seen me. And suddenly I was as if naked, and I was shy.

Yet He had only said, “Good-morrow to you.”

And then I said to Him, “Will you not come to my house?”

And He said, “Am I not already in your house?”

I did not know what He meant then, but I know now.

And I said, “Will you not have wine and bread with me?”

And He said, “Yes, Miriam, but not now.”

Not now, not now, He said. And the voice of the sea was in those two words, and the voice of the wind and the trees. And when He said them unto me, life spoke to death. For mind you, my friend, I was dead. I was a woman who had divorced her soul. I was living apart from this self which you now see. I belonged to all men, and to none. They called me harlot, and a woman possessed of seven devils. I was cursed, and I was envied. But when His dawn-eyes looked into my eyes all the stars of my night faded away, and I became Miriam, only Miriam, a woman lost to the earth she had known, and finding herself in new places.

And now again I said to Him, “Come into my house and share bread and wine with me.”

And He said, “Why do you bid me to be your guest?”

And I said, “I beg you to come into my house.” And it was all that was sod in me, and all that was sky in me calling unto Him.

Then He looked at me, and the noontide of His eyes was upon me, and He said, “You have many lovers, and yet I alone love you. Other men love themselves in your nearness. I love you in your self. Other men see a beauty in you that shall fade away sooner than their own years. But I see in you a beauty that shall not fade away, and in the autumn of your days that beauty shall not be afraid to gaze at itself in the mirror, and it shall not be offended. I alone love the unseen in you.”

Then He said in a low voice, “Go away now. If this cypress tree is yours and you would not have me sit in its shadow, I will walk my way.”

And I cried to Him and I said, “Master, come to my house. I have incense to burn for you, and a silver basin for your feet. You are a stranger and yet not a stranger. I entreat you, come to my house.”

Then He stood up and looked at me even as the seasons might look down upon the field, and He smiled. And He said again: “All men love you for themselves. I love you for yourself.”

And then He walked away.

But no other man ever walked the way He walked. Was it a breath born in my garden that moved to the east? Or was it a storm that would shake all things to their foundations?

I knew not, but on that day the sunset of His eyes slew the dragon in me, and I became a woman, I became Miriam, Miriam of Mijdel.

Dear Husband

Husbands and wifes! You cannot live with out them nor love with them... Each person has their problems!

........................................................................
Dear Husband:

I'm writing you this letter to tell you that I'm leaving you for good. I've been a good woman to you for seven years and I have nothing to show for it. These last two weeks have been hell. Your boss called to tell me that you had quit your job today and that was the last straw.

Last week, you came home and didn't notice that I had gotten my hair and nails done, cooked your favorite meal and even wore a brand new negligee. You came home and ate in two minutes, and went straight to sleep after watching the game. You don't tell me you love me anymore, you don't touch me or anything. Either you're cheating or you don't love me anymore, what ever the case is, I'm gone.

P.S. If you're trying to find me, don't. Your BROTHER and I are moving away to West Virginia together! Have a great life!

Your EX-Wife

---

Dear Ex-Wife

Nothing has made my day more than receiving your letter. It's true that you and I have been married for seven years, although a good woman is a far cry from what you've been. I watch sports so much to try to drown out your constant nagging.

Too bad that doesn't work. I did notice when you cut off all of your hair last week, the first thing that came to mind was "You look just like a man!" My mother raised me to not say anything if you can't say anything nice.

When you cooked my favorite meal, you must have gotten me confused with MY BROTHER, because I stopped eating pork seven years ago. I went to sleep on you when you had on that new negligee because the price tag was still on it. I prayed that it was a coincidence that my brother had just borrowed fifty dollars from me that morning and your negligee was $49.99.

After all of this, I still loved you and felt that we could work it out. So when I discovered that I had hit the lotto for ten million dollars, I quit my job and bought us two tickets to Jamaica. But when I got home you were gone. Everything happens for a reason I guess. I hope you have the fulfilling life you always wanted.

My lawyer said with your letter that you wrote, you won't get a dime from me.

So take care.

P.S. I don't know if I ever told you this but Carl, my brother was born Carla. I hope that's not a problem.

Need a break!

Tired! I want a break from this stress! May be I am not sleeping too well. Lots and lots of demands from office as well as family. Cant compromise anywhere! Cant let anyone down! Am I the only one stuck in these kinds of problems... May be, May be not!

What I need is a distraction, may be a vacation! But, what to do, no vacation written in my fate for at least foreseeable future. Some other distraction needed... What can help? I tried reading and found some gems.. Loved a poem called "Summer Rain" by Deepa.
http://deepaspoems.blogspot.com/2011/02/summer-rain.html

That also couldn't distract me for long...What now? Is it too late to cook something. May be something simple, something delicious... What would that be? Let me follow my whim! Till we meet again!

The girl I used to be!

Today a friend, who is a full time mom, send me a poem titled "The girl I used to be". Another poems whose origin is unknown. I tried to google but only found some sites which has this poem, mostly inspirational quotes etc. Nowhere there is a mention of who actually wrote this! Anyway, poem is simple, but very inspirational or thought provoking!

There was something in this which tugged my heart, though I am not a mother. All of us had our dreams, hopes and plans! Where have we reached and are we happy with that? Can we confidently repeat the last two lines of the poem? For all those who don't know this poem!

She came tonight as I sat alone,
the girl I used to be,
And she gazed at me with her earnest eyes,
and questioned reproachfully,
Have you forgotten the many plans,
and hopes I had for you?
The great career,
the splendid fame,
all the wonderful things to do?
Where is the mansion of stately height,
with all of its gardens rare?
The silken robes that I dreamed for you,
and the shining jewels in your hair?
And as she spoke,
I was very sad,
for I wanted her pleased with me,
This slender girl from the shadowy past,
the girl I used to be.

So gently rising,
I took her hand and guided her up the stairs,
Where peacefully sleeping,
my babies lay, innocent, sweet and fair,
And I told her that these are my only gems,
and precious they are to me,
That silken robe is my motherhood,
of costly simplicity,
And my mansion of stately height is love,
and the only career I know,
Is serving each day in these sheltered walls,
for the dear ones who come and go,
And as I spoke to my shadowy guest,
she smiled through her tears at me,
And I saw the woman that I am now,
pleased, the girl that I used to be!

Crying... Again?

I am crying! Again... As if it doesn't happen everyday! This is not a new story. But fact is that I am unhappy and I cant control myself from crying out. I can smile anymore for the world. May be I want to stop it all. Would I be a coward if I wish to end it all? May be! But then how do endure more?

I wish my dear ones understand me a bit more, love me a bit more and more over care to do that little bit for me! Am I asking too much? Am I not a simple girl with simple dreams and hopes? How long can I go on seeing all my dreams getting crushed as if it doesn't matter? May be it is too much to ask. But then the world around me does a lot more for their loved ones. May be I am not worth it!

And it definitely brings me back to my question! Is this life worth living? For what? For whom? And how long more? When I read all tragedies in paper, I wonder why God is sparing me. I have no wish to endure more... May be I cant! Sometimes I wonder why is this life so sadistic..

No answers anywhere... I hope the purpose of all this is lurking around in some corner... And it is worth it all.

Limits in love

Does love has limits? I feel that there should be. When love becomes limitless, you forget yourself and live for the other person. What if that person has kept a limit? And they dont really care about what you do for them and sacrifice in life for them? I dont think I can survive a situation like that.

There are so many who are taken for granted in love. You keep giving without getting anything in return. How long will you carry on like that?

So long!

So long since I blogged... I blame it again on time!

Again, I decided to blog regularly! I guess I have to convince myself first and then spare that dedicated time... For me, writing helps me de-stress! Especially when the pressure blinds me and I feel like crying, best thing I can do is imagine myself in another world or write down what I feel. Both helps! Imagining can take your pain off temporarily and it definitely gives immediate relief. But then you have to return back to reality!

Writing down helps to compartmentalize issues and you can deal with a small portion at a time. It may take time, but it is a lasting solution for sure. The other day I was upset about not finding a job, which I really wanted. I can shed tears, but its not a solution... Thinking and writing down my priorities and needs helped me decide... I am now with renewed energy and strategies... I am not saying that negative thoughts don't creep up... They do and they are very persuasive. But then you have a destination in mind and with that you can fight back...

For restarting my blog, I think this is good enough:-) Till, I blog again, Good bye!

GM Diet - Day 7

My last day on GM diet!! Cant tell you how happy I'm!
I am allowed to eat the below:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 7
Today your food intake will consist of 1 cup rice, fruit juice and the vegetables you care to consume.
Day 7
You may celebrate with champagne. You may also have white wine instead of champagne, but in al practical programs, and in all surveys done to measure the success of the program, General Motors employees have always preferred champagne to white wine.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today was little difficult without non-veg. But then, the thought that it is the last day on diet, helped me survive. I did not have champagne or wine. I had rice and veggies.

I will also write my thoughts on the diet later. I am tired today:-(

GM Diet - Day 6

Next two days are easy for me... I spent it with lot more ease.
Lets see what the diet plan says:-)

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 6
Today is another all vegetables day. You must eat 1 cup of rice today and eat all the vegetables you want cooked and uncooked to your hearts content.
Day 6
It is similar to five. Vitamins and fibre from the vegetables and carbohydrates from the rice. By now your system is in a total weight loss inclination. There should be a noticeable difference in the way you look today compared to day one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Non vegetarian version:
Day 6
Beef and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your hearts content.
Day 6
Similar to day five, Iron and proteins from beef, Vitamins and fibre from vegetables. By now your system is in a total weight loss inclination. There should be a noticeable difference in the way you look today, compared to day one.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like day 5, I survived on half cup rice, beef and loads of veggies. In my case, a little nonveg can make all the difference... It makes life worth living...

Now about weight loss, I have lost around 3 Kgs. Not much... I am not expecting much more after day 7.

GM Diet - Day 5

Next three days are kind of ok with me!!! I can eat a bit of non veg, lil rice and can survive.

What I was supposed to do??
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 5
Today is a feast day. You will eat 1 cup of rice. You also have to eat six whole tomatoes and drink 12 glasses of water today to cleanse your system of the excess uric acid you will be producing.
Day 5
Rice and tomatoes. The rice is for the carbohydrates and the tomatoes are for the digestion and the fibre. Lots of water purifies your system. You should notice colourless urine today. Do not feel you have to eat one cup rice, you may eat less. But you may eat six tomatoes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Non Vegetarian version:
Day 5
Today is feast day. You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10 oz. portions of lean beef. Hamburger is OK. Combine this with six whole tomatoes. On day five you must increase your water intake by one quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you will be producing.
Day 5
Beef and tomatoes. The beef is for iron and proteins, the tomatoes are for digestion and fibre. Lots and lots of water purifies your system. You should notice colourless urine today. Your allowance calls for the equivalent of five "quarter ponders". Do not feel you have to eat all this beef. You must eat the six tomatoes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What I did....
I had plenty of soup with me. I made some beef and little rice(1/2 cup). I mixed all that together and ate in small portions... Along with that I ate tomatoes. The day passed easy...

GM Diet - Day 4

I have not written about my past 4 days. Not that I forgot. I just could not find time.
Saturdays we go out shop and do other necessary stuff etc. Started off the day ok but mid way through I was hungry!

Let me tell you in detail:-)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 4
Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. You can also have I bowl of vegetables soup.
Day 4
Bananas and milk. You are in for a surprise. You probably will not be able to eat all the bananas allowed. But they are there fore the potassium you have lost and the sodium you may have missed the last three days. You will notice a definite loss of desire for sweets and you will be surprised at how easy this day will go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milk and bananas - Both are not my favourites! Given a chance I can go on without both. So you can guess how it must have been for me. I bought 2 varieties of banana - Kerala banana & Robusta. I made a milk shake with robusta and half spoon bournvita. I steamed the kerala banana.
I drank a glass of shake and ate a steamed banana. We went out to get things done. Shopping for food (Veg, fruits, non veg etc), went to telephone exchange, went to exchange a jeans.... Around 1:30pm, I was terribly hungry. There was no way, we are going to reach back home before 4pm:-( We were in a mall and decided to check the eateries there. I found this place called Firewok, where you can choose all the veggies you want with noodles and they cook it and give you. I decided that I will go for it minus oil & noodles. It was amazing and hot. I relished every single bit and would have licked the bowl if I was not in the presence of so many people. May be I was too hungry to think any otherway.

We finished and reached back home. Rest of the day was fine. Hmm... Just 3 more days to go was my last thought before I fall asleep!

GM Diet - Day 3

Another bad day! I could not follow the diet for lunch today. I was completely off diet for lunch. Unlucky for me my boss took me out today and I could not find the right words to refuse nor refuse to eat what the restaurant offered.

Anyway, I am planning to continue with the diet without dwelling on my lapse for lunch. Lets see what I was supposed to do against what I did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 3:
Eliminates the potato because you get your carbohydrates from fruits. Your system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds. You will have cravings, which should start to diminish by day four.
Day 3:
A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet. No potatoes today.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had my packs ready - Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Mixture of mixed fruits and mixture of cooked veggies. More or less the same things as my first and second day. Had a breakfast of mixed veggies at 8:30am and finished it off with a bowl of fruits at 9:15am. Around 11:15am, I had another bowl of fruits. Everything under control till then. 12:45 pm, I got a call from my boss, asking me to go for lunch with him. This lunch with boss was long planned, but had gotten postponed multiple times. I tried to wriggle out but then this meeting was important. He picked the place and as you can guess it was one of the worst I could end up in. I decided to keep my mind neutral and go with the flow no matter what happens.

How worse can it be was my thought. As usual I went with his suggestion closing my eyes and ignoring that warning in my head. He knows my taste:-( Should I say normal taste? I love continental food. And a 100% non vegetarian. Trust me, I am struggling through this diet. My main problem is avoiding non veg food... He ordered herbed chicken with mushrooms for me. I could not find fault with dish and I ate every bit which was placed in my plate. Chicken, mushrooms, potato, bread & salad! Chicken, potato and bread - all forbidden!! Can you believe it:-( Do I have to say that lunch meeting was success?

I started fighting that awful feeling called regret immediately after I finished my lunch and meeting. The happiness of that successful meeting could not mask the regret I felt. My next thought was whether I should continue the diet or scrap it. I decided to go ahead forgetting my slip. I am not sure if that helps or my slip has nullified the benefits of diet. Let me go ahead and finish the 7 days!! My dinner today is bowl of fruits. I decided to avoid the bowl of veggies I had kept for dinner.

I bought slim milk and bananas on the way back from office. I am all set for tomorrow hoping that everything will go right from now on.

GM Diet - Day 2

One more day on GM diet:-) I did not do a really good job today... But then I followed it more or less. I could have done a lot better.
What was I supposed to do today?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 2
All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the new and cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the account or type. Avoid oil and coconut while cooking vegetables. Have large boiled potato for breakfast.

Day 2
Starts with a fix complex carbohydrates in the form of a boiled potato. This is taken in the form of a boiled potato and taken in the morning to provide energy and balance. The rest of the day too consists of vegetables which are virtually calories free and provide essential nutrients and fibre.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Had loads of veggies today - Starting with that big potato! I had carrot, cabbage, brocolli, zuchini, cauliflower, ladies finger, peas, mushroom, onion, salad leaves, tomoto, tofu, capsicum, beans, knol khol, asparagus... Hmm...I had quiet a variety! I made some soup putting a lot of veggies. This may last for a few days. I had cooked tofu, another set of carrot and peas, and somes grilled mixed veggies. Had breakfast @ 9:00am, snack @ 11:30am, lunch @ 1:00pm, snack @ 5:00pm and dinner @ 9:00pm.

Now, how I goofed up - Today is Thursday! Ok, let me explain. Me and friend @ work go out to eat lunch on all Thursdays. We follow this practice religiously. Hence we went out today also. Decided to go to a nearby mall which has a salad bar called Trim. I chose pile your salad option. So far so good! I am piling salads, I piled something with chicken and another with egg too though a small portion... I cant say that I was unaware. But then, something happened to me and I ate it all...

Today our cook did not turn up and my husband decided on ordering pizza for dinner. He ordered a salad for me too. Salad came loaded with dressing. Though I tried avoiding as much dressing I could, but then you know how it will be. Two mishaps today. I will try to be better tomorrow:-)

Tomorrow is fruits and veggies again... I hope I fare decent marks tomorrow...

I'm putting on weight, need to control or rather reduce it... Finally I can around to doing something about rather than just mulling about the issue! May be I should cleanse my system with GM Diet...

Let me share my research with you:-)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GENERAL MOTORS WEIGHT LOSS DIET

The following diet and health program was developed for the employees and the dependants of General Motors Inc.

The program was developed in conjunction with the grant from the US Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. However, after the first week, it will help your digestion and set your stomach. The key think to remeb4er is that if you are hungry at any time, then you are not following the diet correctly. Almost all people give up the diet when they are hungry because of dieting. The secret of this program is that you should never hungry. If it is a vegetable day, eat so much vegetables so that you are never hungry. If it is a fruits day, eat so much fruits that you are never hungry. You may be bored of eating vegetables all day, but you should not be hungry. You can take any amount of General Motors wonder soup on any day.

GENERAL MOTORS WONDER SOUP

The following soup is intended as a supplement to your diet. It can be eaten any time of the day in virtually unlimited quantities. You are encouraged to drink large quantities of this soup.

23 oz water
06 large onions
02 green peppers
03 whole tomatoes
1 cabbage
1 bunch celery - add herbs and seasoning as desired.

This program is highly recommended for women and men above 40 for whom excess weight is especially dangerous. Excess weight for women aggravates arthritis problems and leads to rapid joint decay. Pain and joint deterioration can be lessened by weight loss as weight loss removes the stress on the knee joint. Excess weight is the most critical factor in keeping good health and excess weight is responsible for the most problems including coronary diseases, heart problems, arthritis and cancer among other serious life threatening diseases. Most serious health problems can be avoided by the single function of maintaining an ideal weight. Daily mild exercise of 20 minutes is also essential. Do not tire yourself out, but being regular in your exercise and maintaining an ideal weight goes a long way in ensuring a happy, healthy and long life.

Bitter taste of tears

It is more than one month since I wrote my last blog. Life was too busy to stop and jot down those thoughts. But then, sharing my thoughts bring such happiness that I smile without that extra effort even when things go haywire and I would rather cry.

Now things have reached such a state that I can’t go on without stopping and sharing those thoughts. My heart is not made to hold thoughts for long – let it be joy or sorrow. I want to take it out of my system, analyze as a third party and throw it away or store it safely in that corner.

Today, I’m upset! Why? Too many things in my mind… I don’t know! I’m just upset! Tears are flowing, it hurts where all it matters! If I analyze carefully, I’m hurt that you don’t understand me! Simple as that! After so many years? Yes! How can you twist my words so well and arrange it in a different order with completely different meaning? How can you look into my eyes and say those words? I have no explanations to give for things I din’t mean. I would rather take this hurt and cry in anguish!
Today tears also taste so bitter. So bitter that, I can’t go on tasting them.

So long...

Its so long since I wrote my last blog.... Was I lazy? Hmm... I dont think so...
Was I busy? Overloaded with lots of work? hmm! You got it right:-)

But everyday morning I thought about finishing up my work on time and posting a few thoughts! Everynight my last thought before I slept probably was that if not today, TOMORROW!! But nothing happened so far other than the fact that the days passed and I never found time! And I missed writing...

Writing down my thoughts was a very important part of my life... But creating time to do that is the toughest job especially if you think of this as a hobby, but not a life threatening scenario. But writing is a hobby, a stress reliever for me... Something I treasure!

Enjoy the ride; there is no return ticket

Yet another forward! On a really different topic:-)

Aging!!! Isn't it a tried, tested and debated topic? What do you mean by that word? Wikipedia says the below:
"Ageing or aging (American English) is the accumulation of changes in an organism or object over time. Ageing in humans refers to a multidimensional process of physical, psychological, and social change. Some dimensions of ageing grow and expand over time, while others decline. Reaction time, for example, may slow with age, while knowledge of world events and wisdom may expand. Research shows that even late in life potential exists for physical, mental, and social growth and development. Ageing is an important part of all human societies reflecting the biological changes that occur, but also reflecting cultural and societal conventions. Age is usually measured in full years — and months for young children. A person's birthday is often an important event."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ageing

As the title says, Enjoy the ride...There is no return ticket in this matter.

George Carlin's Views on Aging???

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions. 'How old are you?' 'I'm fourand a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key. You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead. 'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life! You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony.YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!! But then youturn30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling.. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone. But! Wait!!!You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would! So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, and REACH 50 and make it to 60. You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday! You get into! your80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92. 'Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half!' May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1.Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'

2.Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3.Keep learning.! Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever, even ham radio. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's family name is Alzheimer's.

4.Enjoy the simple things.

5.Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6.The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7.Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8.Cherish your health:If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9.Don't take guilt trips.. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10.Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting'...holy shit, what a ride!'

Now, as usual, about the author and controversies....

This forward is widely and wrongly attributed to George Carlin. Sounds like him but TruthOrFiction says no, see http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/c/carlin-on-aging.htm)

Anyway Carlin denied writing this forward in an interview. You can read it @ http://www.avclub.com/content/interview/george_carlin/3

Another site says that it is probably written by comedian "Larry Miller" http://www.snopes.com/glurge/aging.asp

His profile: http://www.tcm.com/thismonth/article/?cid=159698&mainArticleId=159696

Anyway there are multiple site which debates who wrote this. Some say it is Carlin's and some attribute it to Miller! No matter who wrote this, it is an interesting read!

Why women cry???

Let me share another forward which comes to your mailbox atleast once a year and sometimes more. All girls who read it love it and forward it to all special women in their lives. But beware! Guys think that this another emotional forward to show men in poor light! So, you have to be careful about the gender of the recipient, especially in this case.

Our forward goes, as below:

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?"
"Because I'm a woman," she told him.
"I don't understand," he said.
His Mom just hugged him and said,
"And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"
"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put prayed to God who would surely know the answer.
When God responded he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"
God said:
"When I made the woman she had to be to be made special. I made her shoulders
strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort. I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children. I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining. I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly. I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart. I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly. And lastly, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers and only hers exclusively to use whenever she needs it. She needs no reason, no explanation, its hers."

"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

----------------------------------------------------

Hmm... So, are you crying? Then, you are definitely a girl! Mushy stuff, right??
I also found another poem "Why women cry..." in the site: http://www.whywomencry.net/
It is compilation of stories, poems & positive responses for the cleansing of the eyes and the soul.

WHY WOMEN CRY...

We cry because our toe hurts
We cry because our friends hurt
We cry because our hearts hurt by the ones we love the most
We cry because our loved one and moved to the West Coast

We cry because we're mensing and our hormones are in charge
We cry because our butt is small....or is it way too large?????

We cry because our parents tried to tell us what they knew
We cry because we didn't listen, now life tells us what to do
We cry because we're parents now and want to give our children more
We cry because our children have no clue of what's in store

We cry because we're angry, upset or in despair
We cry because we don't know why, and sometimes we don't care
We cry because God says we can and He put those feelings there ...

----------------------------------------------------

Hahaha! Can't help laughing! Ya, you can take whatever way it is! I cry and I laugh as I please... It so easy to express your emotion and get over it! If you are sad or hurt, what is a better way than having a crying session and get over it? I really don't believe in bottling up my emotions... I would rather 'cry in the rain':-)

Ya, crying cannot sort out the issue. But then, crying can release the tension and emotions which needs an outlet. Once it is out, you can think about the situation without being emotional, then slice and dice it and come up with the best solution!

Anyway if you ask me there are two different questions - Why women cry? and why women cry so easily! You can come up with a complex scientific explanation for question no: 2... But then, how do you explain the first one?
